Bankruptcy

Marc Melamed has represented commercial creditors and creditor committees in bankruptcy proceedings for more than 14 years. Kenneth Baker has over 15 years extensive trial experience in complex bankruptcy litigation.

The firm represents numerous institutional creditors in high volume Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings in bankruptcy courts throughout Ohio. Our services in such matters include appearance at the meeting of creditors, obtaining reaffirmation agreements, filing non-dischargeability actions, and recovery of secured collateral. When the routine matter occasionally becomes complex, our years of experience afford our clients the benefit of our careful analysis and professional advice.

Javitch, Block & Rathbone can also represent creditors in complex business cases. The firm has been involved in many of the major business cases that have been filed in Ohio, and even many that have been filed outside of Ohio. Involuntary filings, assumption/rejection of executory contracts, employment contracts, union contracts, shopping center leases, and environmental hazards are just a few of the unique areas of law within bankruptcy proceedings which the firm has handled.
